What is it ????

This is Thursday Feb. 4, 2010 and our last full day in Troy Alabama. We took a short trip to Luverne Al. on Tuesday. They have a General Store there that appears to be old, but in reality is only about 6 years old. The building itself dates from the late 1800's having been a hardware, clothing store and several other businesses in the past. It's amazing they stay in business at all. The coffee is free, Sue wanted to purchase a couple of similar items...the 1st one was free, the second $.50 and the third was $2.50. Kinda backwards we thought. Normally the more you buy the less expensive, not here. Also, we were given free bags of either chilli mix, soup mix or popping corn ( your choice ). The Chicken Shack was the place for lunch ....see MORE food. Inexpensive and good portions. Sue said goodbye to her Wednesday quilting group yesterday. It's at a senior's center in Troy. She has also been quilting on Mondays with a group from the Baptist Church. Tonight we are scheduled to go to The Barn for supper....oh good we eat again. We've eaten there before and the food stayed down so we'll hope that happens again. Oh ya, that picture, it's a Gumball, from what else, a Gumball tree. It's about 1" in diameter and has sharp points on it.
