Made it !!!!!

Made it....a phrase that covers a lot of the past 24 hrs. Made it through supper last night and yes, it stayed down. They honestly fry everything "down here". For example. The little woman had quail, no problem, but it came with fried green beans...yup, fried green beans and sweet potatoes. Sweet spuds as compared to Irish potatoes ( white). Her dessert was....wait for it.....FRIED cheese cake. I'm a health, nut as most of you are aware, so I had rib eye steak with "slaw" and sweet spuds. My final part of the meal was peanut butter pie. Of course the corn bread was there too. The second "made it" was the departure time from Troy at about 8:50 which was close to the target of 9:00. It was sad to leave that group as we've had a great 5 weeks with them. The third and last "made it" was our arrival in Mississippi. The GPS had said 6 hours but "she" was wrong!!!! Arrived here in about 4.5 hrs. Overcast and showers off and on. Temp is at 55 F. Going out for supper ( surprise) to a Mississippi BBQ. Well, we survived the BBQ. Sue had a BBQ pork sandwich with baked beans mixed with ground beef.....fantastic, and breaded and deep fried corn on the cob.....honestly. I was much healthier with a BBQ platter assortment made up of ribs, wings and brats, more of those fabulous beans and the biggest french fries you can imagine.
