Our stay here in Meridian Miss. saw us take a number of tours yesterday ( Saturday). The visit to an old general store in Causeyville was really interesting. It has been in operation since the 1897, starting life as a mill. The mill still exists, but is non operational because of the high insurance rates required to operate "dangerous" equipment. The store itself is a very interesting place as is the lady that runs it. Her knowledge of history certainly shows. Our next stop was Dunn's Falls. It too was an operating mill started by an Irish fellow. During the civil war, it was turned to a plant to manufacture wollens for the Conferderates. The city of Meridian is know for it's Carossel and Carossel hores. We visited this building and Sue rode the "merry-go-round...neat. Our final outing was to the Riley Theatre, which is part Mississippi University. The building was CLOSED in 1929 and sat unused until 2006. We saw the Vienna Boys Choir perform. Quite amazing the voices of these 25 kids. The theatre itself is a real treasure. They have reproduced the original wallpaper and decorations where required. All and all it was a super day. Our next stop is just south of Jackson Miss. at the Swing Bridge Campground

Sounds like you got to see lots of great things in Mississipi. So did you get a picture of Sue on the Merry-go-round? What you didn't go on with her Bill?
