No, this not the welcoming committee. We were on Interstate 20 and decided to take State Hwy 80 to Jackson Miss. because we prefer secondary roads to super highways. As we were going down the road, a car approached from the opposite direction, followed by two police cars at a high rate of speed. Just after that, there was a bridge with a clearance of 12'3"....we are 12'8"... ooops. As you can see, it is a narrow, 2 lane road with no shoulders. We got 'er turned around, all 49' of truck/trailer combo. As we headed back to I20, we came across this. There were about 3 cars stopped in front of us. The white car, without flashing lights is the "bad guys". In all there were 8 police cars including the K-9 and 3-4 bandits in cuffs. IF we had been 2 minutes earlier, the time it took to get turned around, quite literately, there is a very good chance we would have been an inadvertent road block during the course of our u-turn. Then there would have been a story to tell. The rest of the trip to Jackson was boring.
