Mainland again

These pics were taken in Chemainus, on Vancouver Island. It was one of the towns we visited on Tuesday, along with Duncan which is known as the City of Totems with 30 some odd around town. Ladysmith was another of the towns, which is supposed to be one of the prettiest small towns on the island. We found that to be true. Wednesday was the journey to Victoria and all it's Victorian splendor. There was a castle to be visited (not as big as Castle Loma, but impresssive none the less.) Also visited the beach and the waterfront and saw some very neat floating houses.....I could get used to them. The highlight of the day was "high tea" at the Empress Hotel. VERY $$$$$$ but a once in a lifetime ( at least for us) adventure. Today we caight the ferry to the mainland. We found the campground to be a bit further south than we thought but it's a beauty. We are only about a mile from the US border.
